Passed away in August 2006 in Greenville, Kentucky.
Dr. Timothy Paul Stewart, beloved husband, father, brother, physician, and friend, passed away on September 7th, 2008. Tim was a family Practitioner with the Fredericksburg Clinic for 17 years. He loved the people of Fredericksburg and the surrounding communities and was rewarded with devoted patients who were equally fond of him. His patients, family, colleagues, and friends rallied around him after his diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma in 1994. He found support through the hundreds of encouraging cards, letters, prayers, and abundant love shown to him by all who knew him.
Tim was born in Amarillo, Texas on June 6, 1960 and lived there until moving to San Antonio to attend medical school from 1981-1985. He completed his Residency in Family Practice in Waco, Texas and practiced in Seguin, Texas before settling in Fredericksburg in 1991.
Affectionately known as Dr. Tim, he enjoyed hearing as well as telling a good joke or a funny story. He loved to float down the Llano River or go kayaking with his buddies. He was active in the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher and bass guitar player for the music team.
Tim became involved with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Gillespie County, serving as a team captain for several years. He also volunteered to speak with other cancer patients and supported them by letting them know first-hand what to expect during the treatment. In a recent article about the effects of Cancer in his life, he encouraged others to live life to its fullest, cherishing each day and to grant themselves the freedom he had discovered to try new things without fear of failure or of just being mediocre. His newfound freedom led him to try many potentially embarrassing things. He performed magic tricks, dressed up like Captain Jack Sparrow, and wrote a novel. His family knew him to be the first one in line for a roller coaster ride and the last one to want to leave the amusement park. He was the life of the party and will be sorely missed.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Frank Stewart; his father-in-law, Lawrence Benton; and brothers-in-law, Charles Lamoreaux, Larry Benton, and Rick Thompson.
He is survived by his wife Elaine and their children, Austin and Kate; his sisters Cindy Thompson of Amarillo, Texas and Susan Stewart and her partner Mark White of Spring, Texas; his mother-in-law Edna Earle Benton of Mason; sisters-in-law, Tanya Lamoreaux of Mason and Myrtle Keefe and husband Tom of North Hollywood, California; his nephews James Thompson of Amarillo and Victor Lamoreaux of Mason; and niece Mason of California as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
